Sniper Rifles in Mass Effect 2 are designed for extreme range situations where firepower and accuracy are needed. They are excellent for long range combat and can quickly put an end to opponents before they even see you. The line of Sniper Rifles ranges from semi-automatics Sniper Rifles to powerful anti-material Sniper Rifles.

Initially, only the Soldier and Infiltrator classes can use a Sniper Rifle.

In-Game Description: Increases damage by +50% against armor. Improves sniper rifles for entire squad. Increasing the tungsten content of slugs and recalibrating the weapon's computer greatly improves penetration against heavily armored targets.

  • Changes the letter designation of the weapon from "M" to "S".

Cost: 25,000 Platinum

In-Game Description: Sniper rifles deal +50% headshot damage. This bonus affects the entire squad. Normandy's scientists have prototyped a modification to the traditional smart-targeting module commonly incorporated into high-end weaponry. While this technology is normally used to compensate for wind and recoil, it was adapted to slightly deflect rounds to strike a more vital part of an enemy's head.

  • Changes the letter designation of the weapon from "S" to "X".

In-Game Description: Provides +10% sniper rifle damage. Improves sniper rifles for your entire squad. This upgrade improves the mass effect field generator, increasing the mass and acceleration of each slug fired.

  • Adds a letter designation to the weapon "a-e".
