(Redirected from Captain Anderson)
|Voice Actor||Keith David|
David Anderson (known better as Captain Anderson) is one of the most accomplished and well-respected Humans in the Systems Alliance. He was the original Captain for the Alliance's best star ship, the SSV Normandy. He was also allowed to hand-pick his own crew, which led to him bringing in Commander Shepard as his Executive Officer.
Captain Anderson sent out a ground team consisting of Shepard, Alenko and Jenkins to answer a distress they received from Eden Prime. A Turian Spectre called Nihlus Kryik also joined them of the mission to assess Commander Shepard for Spectre status. The mission went wrong when Jenkins was killed in action, Nihlus was murdered by Saren who was behind the attack and a Prothean Beacon that they were supposed to secure was destroyed.
Anderson brought this to the attention of the Citadel Council. When they gained enough evidence to prove Saren was guilty, Commander Shepard was promoted to a Spectre and given the task of bringing Saren down. Because of Anderson's past with Saren, he was forced to step down as Captain of the Normandy. Ambassador Udina felt that Anderson's history with Saren could jeopardize the mission and Commander Shepard was given control of the Normandy.
David Anderson was one of the first people to ever graduate from the N7 program, which is the highest form of training in the Systems Alliance. He also fought against the Turians during the First Contact War. After the war he became the first human to ever be considered for the Spectres. He was sent on a mission with Saren who would assess his performance. Unfortunately, Saren had a great dislike for all humans after his brother was killed in the First Contact War and he appeared to have a special dislike for Anderson. They were sent to rescue a female Lieutenant of the Systems Alliance who was being held hostage at an element zero refinery by a Krogan Mercenary.
The mission went wrong when Saren went in all guns blazing and destroyed the refinery. Anderson managed to save the Lieutenant but many innocent lives were lost because of Saren's actions. Saren was able to shift the blame on Anderson, saying that Anderson alerted the guards which forced him to attack. The council rejected Anderson for Spectre status after just one assessment which was considered a huge embarrassment for the humans
